Pop-Up Business Village

For several weeks, a proposal to create a Pop-Up Business Village to provide interim commercial space for businesses which lost bricks-and-mortar space in the fire has been discussed by Municipal Council and Administration. On Tuesday March 25, Council considered a recommendation to situate the enterprise in the Patricia Street parking lot north of the heritage fire hall. This would be an alternative to the original proposed location, which was the parking lot on Connaught Drive immediately north of Hazel Street (the “White Rock parking lot”). The Request for Decision can be accessed through the link below.

In a related but separate discussion, Council will consider a request to allow the Rockaboo climbing wall to remain in place for three years, allowing it to be used year-round.

Administration will undertake a short round public engagement to assess the views of residents and businesses with respect to the location of these two projects. In order to offer advice to Council and Administration on these issues, the JPCC is requesting that businesses provide input on the location of these two projects. Please log in below to submit your feedback on these issues.

2. Where your business is located?
3. Are you in favour of retaining Rockaboo’s climbing wall at the current site on Patricia Street for 3 years?
