Our Story Athabasca Glacier IceWalks was founded in 1985 by Peter Lemieux, an ACMG ski guide and a natural history interpreter working with Parks Canada. Peter saw an opportunity to make the beauty of glaciers more accessible to all. After 36 years of exploring the Athabasca Glacier with thousands of guests, Peter is transitioning ownership to longtime IceWalks guide Corin Lohmann and his wife Megan. IceWalks continues to be a family-run business providing visitors to Jasper National Park the opportunity to learn the story of the glacier and experience the wonders of this natural ice formation.
