Fire Ban in the Municipality of Jasper

Effective at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, Fire Chief Greg Van Tighem has issued a fire ban for the Municipality of Jasper to help prevent human-caused wildfires and protect public safety.
This prohibition is being implemented due to current weather conditions.

The Jasper Sky Tram Opens Tomorrow! 

The Jasper SkyTram opened, Friday, March 24th with daily hours from 10 am to 5 pm.  During the early season, Jasper SkyTram has rental snowshoes at the upper station and will be featuring snow sculptures by local artist, Jessy Dion.  Residents who present identification confirming that they are “locals” will be able to purchase adult and youth flight tickets at 30% off the regular price this season.

Pine Bungalows Wins Green Key Environment Award of Excellence

The Green Key Environment Award of Excellence recognizes lodging properties that have developed a culture towards integrating environmental management practices that improve everyday operations and the bottom line, while maintaining quality service and meeting guest expectations.

​The award was presented to Michal Wasuita, Owner and Operator, at the Hotel Association of Canada’s Annual Conference on February 16, 2017. Read more… 

2017 Women Mean Business Keynote Speaker!

We are very excited to annouce that our 2017 WMB Keynote Speaker will be Kristen Cumming!

Kristen is a member of the Speakers Bureau of Alberta and quite renowned for her ability to engage with the audience! This year’s topic? The Intergenerational Workplace. Kristen will discuss how to manage multi-generations in the workplace and employee attraction/retention best practices.

Last Thursday, The Canadian Chamber of Commerce shared their toolkit with you as we launched what we used to call our Top 10 Barriers to Canadian Competitiveness. That document listed some of the self-inflicted wounds that have prevented Canada’s economy from achieving its full potential and set out our recommendations for change.  Read more…

Our friends at the Jasper Yellowhead Museum will be hosting a bottle drive at the upcoming Jasper in January Street Festival! Please drop off any donations to either Sheila or AnnaMarie at the Beaver Tail Booth. 

Donations can consist of the following: 

-liquor bottles
-pop bottles
-milk cartons & bottles
-juice containers
-water bottles

Anything you can donate will be much appreciated!

Grande Prairie Regional College is now offering continued education courses in Jasper, Hinton and Edson. Courses are available in person and online! For more information on what will be offered in your area click here
