What are Santa Bucks?

The Santa Bucks initiative has been introduced to Jasper by the local Santa’s Anonymous program to strengthen our local economy by encouraging residents and visitors to shop local.

Santas Anonymous is partnering with the Canadian Red Cross, the Jasper Chamber of Commerce and Local Retailers, creating an initiative that will foster the development and resiliency of local businesses, non-profits, and visitor.

Now more than ever, we need to focus our spending to support our local businesses and keep our dollars in Jasper this holiday season.

How Does The Program Work?

The Santa Bucks initiative is comprised of two related programs.

The Santa’s Anonymous Gift Program:

This year, rather than giving toys, clothing or other goods as Christmas gifts this year, Santas Anonymous will be giving Santa Bucks in $10, $20 and $50 increments.

Recipients can spend their Santa Bucks at any participating outlet in Jasper. Merchants will then invoice the cost of the purchased items to Santas Anonymous, who will reimburse the outlet.

Merchants who accept Santa Buck will simply invoice the Jasper Community Team for the actual amount of the purchase(s), including GST. The JCT will pay promptly. The redeemed Santa Bucks must be securely retained and returned to either the Community Outreach Services offices or the Jasper Park Chamber of Commerce at the Robson House. Santa’s Anonymous Gift Bucks must be redeemed by December 31, 2024.

The Santa Bucks Retail Program:

Additionally, Santa Bucks can be purchased at outlets in Town including Pharmasave and the Robson House. By purchasing Santa Bucks to give as gifts, residents and will be supporting local business. This creates an ideal opportunity for gift-giving this holiday season. Santa Bucks can easily be used as awards, seasonal bonuses or other tokens of recognition. Participating merchants will invoice for redeemed Bucks in exactly the same way as they do for Gift Bucks.

Retail Santa Bucks will be on sale until December 31, 2024 and will not expire. Retail Santas Bucks are distinguishable from the Gift Program Bucks.

Why Should You Participate in The Program

This program won’t succeed without support from our local businesses. To get on board, all you have to do is agree to accept  Santa Bucks as payment. The more businesses that join, the more successful the program will be and the greater the incentive to shop local! Businesses can gain more exposure to potential new customers while members residents can pride themselves on supporting local.

All participating businesses and organizations will be marketed as part of the program and will be provided with a window decal to show customers that you accept Santa Bucks at your location.

If your business is interested in being a part of Santa Bucks program please contact the Chamber by emailing admin@jpcc.ca, or by phoning (780) 852-4621.
